Get On With It. Our 2024 Focus.

As we enter into 2024, we’ve only one resolution for the year ahead. Get on with it.

In 2023, we set out two broad ambitions: 1). To transform cancer outcomes for all by developing a movement led platform that brings all trusted information in one place. 2). To work with world class artists through Evamore Records, our Founder’s (Sir Chris Evans) record label, to create songs that raise profile and funds for our work.

We didn’t really know what success would look like, but as we reflect on 2023 we recognised the numerous actions which have set us up to truly get on with it in 2024 and deliver the transformational outcomes everyone affected by cancer is desperately waiting for.

Only a year ago, our journey started as a team of two. As of January 2024, 12 brilliant people are part of the team. We have more roles to appoint this year including opportunities in fundraising, operations, childhood, prostate and teenage cancer, as well as an important scientific/academic lead. We’ll advertise them here.

Our accountability, governance and direction from the top was vastly strengthened as we went from three Trustees including two Founders, to 12 incredible Trustees and a new Founder in David Rees (Seerave Foundation), joining us to make it three formidable Founders to guide us through the new year. You’ll hear more from them throughout the year as they all play an active role in our development.

From a handful of partners and donors at the beginning of our journey, to establishing a global network of incredible Founding Partners and Founding Patrons who invest in our development, 2023 saw us add numerous fundamental relationships. In the coming months you’ll see the benefit of those collaborations, not least with Seerave Foundation, ustwo, Solving Kids’ Cancer, NatWest and many others to be announced.

Evamore Records transitioned from releasing a few songs to putting on one of the most talked about concerts of the year. Robert Plant, Ella Henderson, Katherine Ryan, Nina Nannar, Jane Clarke, Andreas Antona and many others joined forces with our Ambassador Andy Taylor to deliver our first live event, grabbing global headlines and raising further funds for our team development. All of which was off the back of a year of global press about Andy’s journey with prostate cancer and our role in helping him navigate his options.

Enough about 2023. What we promised you is a platform to transform cancer outcomes, and an album of incredible songs by leading artists to bring global attention to everything the movement is doing. This is what you can expect from us in 2024:

  1. New announcements that will set the context for 2024. We’ll introduce you to our new team members, new partners and a number of projects underway to turn the insights into delivery, the design of the platform, in addition to our first team members in North America and Australia.

  2. Growing our audience. As we move closer to building a platform available for public use, our marketing efforts take big leaps, with new and positively disruptive campaigns and the launch of podcasts starting with our Ambassador Nina Lopes.

  3. Demonstrations of the platform as we develop it. Collaborations are underway to develop the platform for our ‘first user’ and quickly expand from there across our founding pillars (more on that in the coming weeks) before we reach all users, all cancers, everywhere. We’ll be sharing the early versions so you can see where we are at, support us to work through the challenges, and help us get there quicker.

  4. Designing the simple and getting ready for the complex. Whilst we get the ‘simple’ right, our team is working with numerous partners on the complex, so we are ready to deliver on the more challenging aspects of the platform, like clinical trial access, before the end of 2024. We’ll be sharing our journey and inviting your critiques and expert input. We are asking you to get involved.

  5. North America gets going. Thanks to further support from Amgen and the genuine collaborative support from Founding Partners like Lazarex and Key Opinion Leaders like Jim Nasr, and the appointment of our first US team members, we hit the ground in the US in February. A series of community listening exercises, leaning into the inequalities in cancer navigation, will lead to the beginning of our roadmap for designing the platform for the North American user. We’ll announce similar approaches to other territories this year.

  6. Our fundraising continues. You’ll see unique fundraising pushes from us including a Banksy Prize Draw, an art sale in collaboration with Teenage Cancer Trust, a collaboration with the UK’s three Michelin starred chefs (get your tickets here) and many more prize draws similar to the Duran Duran support in 2023. We also plan to announce a number of new transformational gifts as part of an endowment push.

  7. What Works research. We are here to collaborate not compete, especially if something already works. What actually works, how, who for, why, where’s the proof and technically how do they do it? Working with a number of our global partners we’ll launch a piece of research with our collaborators at Harvard, looking into 20+ existing platforms around the world and applying the outcomes to how we design our platform and our relationships with those platforms. We’ll invite partners in January and submissions in February.

  8. Key opinion leaders take the lead. It’s crucial to our values as a movement to develop our network of key opinion leaders and use them. In February we relaunch what this network looks like and how it’ll truly drive our approach to a movement that invites critical friends - privately and publicly.

  9. Evamore Records album launch. We have a number of incredible artists to announce as collaborators and many recordings to complete at Abbey Road Studios and other incredible venues around the world. In the next few days you’ll see announcements of new team members being added to deliver on both the album and a series of world-class events.

  10. Evamore Presents. If you were lucky enough to join us at Soho Farmhouse in October for our first live event, get ready for even bigger events in 2024. Evamore Presents, led by new team members, will deliver exclusive nights out in London, Los Angeles and Sydney with more to come. All the money raised from the events go directly towards our collaborations and platform development. Our next event is in March - announcement coming.

That’s ten things you can hold us accountable for when you read our end of year update in December.

To those who have read the full message, thank you (we promise to keep them punchier throughout 2024). Stick with us, 2024 is a huge year and we intend to get on with it. Happy New Year to all.
