Marble London's Laura Eynon, completes Kilimanjaro in support of our mission

We were moved when Laura Eynon, Production Manager at our partner Marble LDN, embarked on the challenging journey of Kilimanjaro in support of our mission. A couple of years ago, Laura signed up for a Kilimanjaro trek and recently joined the team at Marble LDN. When Marble announced their partnership with Cancer Awareness Trust the stars aligned for Laura and she decided to fundraise as part of her hike.

Laura explains, “I have sadly lost all four of my grandparents and three of my uncles to cancer. Perhaps, what affected me most was my Uncle and godfather, that I was very close to, died in 2019 after a long and difficult battle with myeloma. During the last few years of his life, I was very involved in his care and as a wider family, we all rallied around my aunt and teenage cousins. We found navigating their cancer journeys to be very challenging as we felt unsure, confused and scared at times, having to guess who and what we should believe. If you had a simple and easy way of accessing up-to-date and trustworthy information it could really change the whole diagnosis experience for those living with cancer and everyone around them. I think Cancer Platform, will really make a tangible and huge difference to people's lives and it is why I chose to raise funds for the organisation.'

""On behalf of our Founders, Trustees and our whole Team, I want to say a huge thank you to Laura for dedicating funds raised from the Kilimanjaro hike towards getting the Cancer Platform live. Laura, thank you for sharing your story, supporting our mission and taking our brand to new heights. 5,895 meters to be precise!" Mike Zatyka, Director of Global Fundraising.
