Vanessa Kingsbury joins as Founding Patron and Advisor

We’re delighted to introduce our latest Founding Patron, Vanessa Kingsbury. Vanessa is the latest in a growing number of business leaders joining our cause to deliver the Cancer Platform. As a highly respected business leader, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, she becomes a Founding Patron and one of our Advisors. Vanessa is the powerhouse leader behind Buttercups Training.

Since its inception in 1988, Buttercups has become a successful, well-established training provider with a wealth of experience and expertise. The company delivers high quality training programmes and apprenticeships to healthcare professionals working within the NHS, community pharmacy and community healthcare, doctors’ practices, and the Armed Forces. The same wider workforce who plays a pivotal role in the delivery of the Cancer Platform.

Vanessa was introduced to the charity by our Founding Patron and Strategic Advisor, Amy Hope-Smith and joins a growing list of active entrepreneurs who not only bring their personal expertise, philanthropic backing, and energy to our mission – but also bring the benefit of their business to our delivery plans.

We are excited to work with Vanessa both as a Founding Patron, and in an Advisor capacity as we develop our workforce development plan for the Cancer Platform, collaborating and learning from everything Buttercups Training has achieved since it’s inception.

“Vanessa is a fantastic addition to our charity. I am delighted she is joining as a Founding Patron, helping us get there quicker by backing the team through her philanthropy and the expertise of her company too. Our UK strategy will hugely benefit from Vanessa’s expert input – the wider workforce are super important to our mission and Vanessa can help us greatly with our strategy on this! Welcome to the team, Vanessa”. Professor Sir Chris Evans, Founder.

“Those affected by cancer are desperate for evidence-based information and advice. Sadly, there is much misinformation available which can damage their confidence and wellbeing. Buttercups Training and I have always been committed to enhancing and elevating the skills and knowledge of pharmacy professionals who will relish the opportunity to contribute to this platform and enable the public they serve to access it. Together with the incredible team at The Cancer Awareness Trust and its Patrons, I am excited to be a part of this mission to make a difference in improving cancer outcomes” Vanessa Kingsbury, Founding Patron and Advisor.
